AGRITECHNICA ASIA and HORTI ASIA บุกภาคตะวันออก จัดแสดงสาธิตการใช้เครื่องจักรกลเกษตรในสวนผลไม้ เรียกน้ำย่อยก่อนจัดงานจริงวันที่ 27-29 พฤษภาคม 2564

วีเอ็นยู เอเชีย แปซิฟิค และ องค์กรการเกษตรแห่งเยอรมัน (DLG) ผู้จัดงานฯ AGRITECHNICA ASIA & HORTI ASIA งานแสดงเทคโนโลยีเครื่องจักรกลการเกษตร และงานแสดงปัจจัยการผลิตทางการเกษตรและนวัตกรรมด้านการปลูกพืชผัก ไม้ผล และดอกไม้แห่งภูมิภาคเอเชีย กลับมาเดินสายประชาสัมพันธ์การจัดงานอีกครั้ง เล็งกลุ่มเป้าหมายชาวสวนภาคตะวันออก ที่มีศักยภาพเป็นแหล่งผลิตผลไม้เมืองร้อนเพื่อการส่งออกที่สำคัญ ระหว่างวันที่ 11-12 ธันวาคม 2563 โดยมุ่งหวังว่าการจัดกิจกรรมสาธิตการใช้เครื่องจักรกลเกษตร จะกระตุ้นความสนใจในการใช้เทคโนโลยีจัดการการผลิตพืช และเพื่อปูทางสำหรับการจัดงานแสดงสินค้าในปีหน้านี้ ทั้งนี้ ผู้จัดงานฯ ได้รับเกียรติ จากคณะกรรมการสมาคมสื่อเกษตรฯ นำโดยนายกสมาคมฯ ดร.อภิวัฒน์ จ่าตา เดินทางเยี่ยมชมงานพืชสวนก้าวหน้า ณ สวนวิจัยพืชสวนจันทบุรี เพื่อสำรวจนวัตกรรมและวิทยาการใหม่ๆ ในวงการพืชสวน ทั้งด้านการผลิต การตลาด และอัพเดทการตอบรับต่อปัญหาในมิติต่างๆ ที่สอดคล้องกับสถานการณ์ปัจจุบัน พร้อมทั้งเยี่ยมชมสวนทุเรียนด็อกเตอร์ ของนายกสมาคมทุเรียนไทย พิเศษสุดกับการชมการสาธิตเครื่องจักรกลการเกษตรในสวน ซึ่งจะนำมาจัดแสดงภายในงาน AGRITECHNICA ASIA & HORTI ASIA ระหว่างวันที่ 27-29 พฤษภาคม 2564 ณ ไบเทค กรุงเทพฯ

Post-harvest Loss Briefing: Technologies and Management

The AGRITECHNICA ASIA digital talks about Post-Harvest Losses addressed the avoidance of losses by improved process management and handling of crops as well as opportunities to fund projects of cooperation to introduce new technologies.

In an impressive example Dr. Rose Rolle, Senior Enterprise Development Officer at FAO, showed that “as the technology improves we already achieved a 70 – 80 % loss reduction” in mango processing. This was achieved with quite simple technologies, such as washing Mango fruits with warm water to stabilize the fruit skin against damage. Dr. Arshad Ahmad Pal, Postharvest Specialist at the World Vegetable Center India made clear that farmers are not always aware, that already during harvest they have strong impact on the quality of vegetables. “The damage is not visible at that time. But its effects can be seen further down the value chain” and reduces quality and prices for all stakeholders. This means, that “reducing post-harvest loss is not just bringing in new technology. You really have to look in value chain upgrading” added Martin Gummert, Senior Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) from The Philippines. To achieve this, it is clear that money plays a role. Thus, Thomas König, Advisor for Development Cooperation at DLG, Germany, informed that “the German government provides funding addressing both, private investors and NGOs”.

Due to new regulations important pesticides like Paraquat and Glyphosate are intended to be banned.

“Farmers are urgently looking for alternatives” said Dr. Klaus Erdle of the DLG Competence Center
Agriculture, Germany.

The global importance of the topic was proven by listeners from Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America, who participated in the 1st Digital Talks on October 14th.

Together with additional organizations Dr. Nagavajara Bedinghaus, Executive Director, Thai Agricultural Innovation Trade Association (TAITA), is supporting the government of Thailand “in bringing in the latest technology of crop protection in Thailand and to train the farmers to use it correctly and responsibly”.

At the same time “it is still important to ban very high risk pesticides that are difficult to manage on farm level” stated Dr. Schreinemachers – Lead Scientist of the World Vegetable Center.

As in Germany the discussion on banning Glyphosate is still pending “farmers switch to mechanical weed control” and at the same time “companies are developing a variety of new tools” for a more integrated pest management explained Dr. Rebecka Duecker, Institute of Plant Pathology and Crop Protection Division, University of Goettingen.

“Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is not as easy as using chemical pesticides. However, it is worthwhile and has solved the problems of adverse effects of pesticides” summarized Dr. Nuansri Tayaputch, Expert
Panel on Chemical Review Committee.
