Pöttinger focuses on Asia Pacific

As an Austrian manufacturer of agricultural technology, Pöttinger relies on its innovative products and increasing its internationalisation. Asia Pacific is a major growth region that is increasingly moving into focus. Oceania achieved excellent growth in sales during the previous business year.

The increase in milk consumption in Asian countries will lead to considerable demand for grassland equipment. As the specialist in the grassland sector, Pöttinger is in a position to make a significant contribution. The product range is correspondingly versatile: from mowers and tedders to rakes and loader wagons, the grassland machines offer high output and pure efficiency. With the newly developed IMPRESS round baler, Pöttinger is now setting the standard in baler technology.

Moreover, there is great demand for investment in arable farming: in the tillage, soil preparation and seed drill technology sectors, Pöttinger has delivered enormous performance in terms of new development and now offers matching soil cultivation concepts ranging from straightforward, cost-effective solutions to extremely high-performance results to meet the highest specifications. Fliegl – Press Release

“Being a launch partner of this new show offers my company a perfect platform to present its products to customers and partners from the key countries of the important Asian markets.”
Josef Fliegl, President, Fliegl Agrartechnik GmbH

The Fliegl success story began exactly 40 years ago: In Kastl my father Josef Flieg Sr. founded a Mechanical engineering shop, in which he converted dumpers and produced slurry tanks. Now, almost 14,600 days later, Fliegl Agrartechnik is worldwide the biggest agricultural trailer manufacturer and produces quality products for agriculture, transport, biogas and forest technology.
One of the most important decisions for our success was moving the company headquarters from Töging to Mühldorf two years ago. On an area of about 30 hectares, on four assembly lines, dumpers, biogas plants, slurry tanks and push-off trailers are produced for worldwide markets. With the foundation of our subsidiaries in North America, Brazil and North Africa we have finally established ourselves as a global player. Fliegl exports to all continents of the world. Also in 2015 the agricultural industry finds itself again in a fundamental rebuild, which is characterized by rapid technical advances, from new legal regulations and from the unstable political and global economic climate. In this way the new liquid manure amendment changes the requirements the farmer has from his machine. The new fertilizer ordinance specifies that, by 2020 ammonia emissions mush be reduced by 5 %. This requires new solutions for liquid manure spreading and collection technologies. A challenge which we are pleased to meet and for which we already have a competent and straightforward solution with our products, such as for example the Fliegl slurry injector Universal. Markets and the underlying conditions change and as such, require continual questioning. What are you doing? What have you done already? What do you plan to do? For us, it is a matter of course to respond to these changes, in order to present the best possible solutions to our dealers and customers. Our products meet all requirements presented by politics and environmental protection that a modern farmer can face. For the future I hope to continue the good co-operative work with our partner network. Only if we work together, pulling on the same cord and drawing us all forward with full vigour, we can follow up on the successes of the last four decades. It is beyond the scope of this document to enumerate the cooperation between the various partners.
You can be sure: They are close to my heart. From the individual sales representative to the strategic partner from large industrial companies. We talk about Fliegl & friends, this is no exaggeration. To all who helped sustain the success of the Fliegl Group, I say thank you! You can be sure: We will be there, developing new products and further optimizing the existing ones – in the same way way for the next 40 years.
Josef Fliegl Jr.

AGCO – Press Release

“Thailand continues to be a challenging market with retail finance being a key driver in mechanization for the volume market i.e. compact tractor sector. For the higher horsepower sector weather and commodity pricing is key. The larger producers are looking to mechanization to stream line and improve productivity, this is exciting as technology and machinery innovation plays a large part in this process. The same can be said for all countries in Asia, Myanmar is opening quickly with a need for modern equipment, and Vietnam cropping is changing so there is a shift in machinery types and sizes. Indonesian market, especially sugar industry are seeking solutions due to labor issues. There is in some size or sector in all countries an increased demand for technology and mechanization.”

Alex Baker, Manager – Far East, AGCO Holdings (Singapore) Pte Ltd

AGCO. We are a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of solutions and innovations in Agriculture.
Through tireless research and development. Significant capital investments in technology. Forward-thinking people. They’re the things we focus on every single day to be as innovative as possible. They’re the reasons AGCO is leading the agricultural revolution by helping growers be more productive, efficient and profitable.
AGCO’s deep experience, long heritage and broad dealer network give us the ability to inherently know our customers’ needs more than others. But we don’t stop there. Building on constant feedback from customers, our designers work closely with suppliers, agronomists and research institutions to create solutions that make a real difference in the field and on the bottom line.
From hybrid combine harvesters to telemetry-based tracking systems (and so much in between!), AGCO’s innovative approaches are helping make more productive farms—and helping make the world a better, more sustainable place.
At AGCO, we focus on efficiency across all of our brands in four key ways:
Machine Uptime: When it comes to productivity, it’s no secret that maximizing uptime is key. From machinery to grain storage solutions. AGCO technologies such as wireless connectivity and diagnostic services help you run a smarter, more profitable enterprise
Machine Optimization: Automation is a big part of how AGCO delivers exceptional machine optimization. The AGCO automatic guidance system helps farmers do a better, more precise job by minimizing overlap and skip and reducing time and fuel consumption, among many other benefits.
Logistic Management: For big farms working with big data, AGCO logistics management analyzes machine data, including yields and financials, on the farm and in the field to deliver better service and maximize uptime.
Reduce Waste: It’s all about waste vs. yield. Everything AGCO produces is focused on doing two things: Helping to reduce waste through reduced costs of inputs and increasing yields
With these key areas in mind we work tirelessly to help make today’s farms more productive and more profitable. As the world of agriculture changes, so do we. Brazenly. We do it for the farmers. For the people working for them. For ourselves. For the future. We are Leading the Way.

AGCO and Maschio Gaspardo Launch Partners of AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2017

Bangkok/Frankfurt – 13 July 2016

With the manufacturers AGCO and Maschio Gaspardo, the organizers of AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2017, DLG International (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, have brought two more top-flight launch partners on board. The two project managers Marie Servais (DLG) and Akachai Ponsomboon (VNU) interpret this as a clear signal “for the further rise in interest in Asia’s markets among manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment”. Prior to this, LEMKEN, LOVOL and PÖTTINGER had already agreed to act as launch partners for AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2017 which is being held in Bangkok (Thailand) from 15 to 17 March 2017.

Mirco Maschio, President of Maschio Gaspardo Group, said, “Maschio Gaspardo Group has been operating in the Asian market for over a decade, and is known for its wide product range, dedicated network and prompt customer service. Maschio Gaspardo Group not only focuses on the production and sales of agricultural machinery, but also plays an important role in the enhancement of agricultural mechanization. In the last few years, the company has invested heavily in two new production sites in China (Qingdao) and India (Pune) to serve the Asian markets. This investment is an important step in achieving the global leadership position in providing complete crop solutions to farmers. We decided to participate as a launch partner at the first AGRITECHNICA Asia in Bangkok, aware of the strategic importance and the considerable growth of the Asian market in recent years.”

Alex Baker, Manager – Far East, AGCO Holdings (Singapore) Pte Ltd, also stressed the importance of the Asian market for tractor manufacturers. “Thailand continues to be a challenging market with retail finance being a key driver in mechanization for the volume market i.e. compact tractor sector. For the higher horsepower sector, weather and commodity pricing are key. The larger producers are looking to mechanization to streamline and improve productivity. This is exciting, as technology and machinery innovation play a large part in this process. The same can be said for all countries in Asia. Myanmar is opening quickly with a need for modern equipment, and in Vietnam cropping is changing so there is a shift in machinery types and sizes. The Indonesian market, especially the sugar industry, is seeking solutions due to labor issues. There is increased demand for technology and mechanization in some size or sector in all countries.”

The first AGRITECHNICA ASIA will be held parallel with VIV Asia, Asia’s largest animal husbandry exhibition and Horti Asia, the leading trade fair for Horticultural and Floricultural Production and Processing Technology, at BITEC, Bangkok, from 15 to 17 March 2017. This will make it possible to exploit synergies between animal husbandry and crop production and give the first AGRITECHNICA ASIA an additional boost.

Mechanization of Asia’s agriculture covers a wide range. At AGRITECHNICA ASIA the emphasis will be on solutions for agricultural machinery and equipment that are both relevant and important to the development of agriculture in Asian markets. In the coming decade mechanization and the use of modern machinery will increase strongly, above all due to a growing shortage of labour, more intensive competition and the resulting need to lower production costs.

While the focus at the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment AGRITECHNICA in Germany lies on innovations in cultivating maize and cereals, AGRITECHNICA ASIA will also feature local solutions for cultivating rice, cassava and sugar cane.

DLG International and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific to launch an Asian version of the world’s leading agricultural exhibition, AGRITECHNICA, in Thailand: AGRITECHNICA ASIA in 2017

PRESS RELEASE – FOR RELEASE ON 22 APRIL 2016

DLG International and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific to launch an Asian version of the world’s leading agricultural exhibition, AGRITECHNICA, in Thailand: AGRITECHNICA ASIA in 2017

Bangkok/Frankfurt – 22 APRIL 2016

The two leading exhibition organizers in livestock and agricultural machinery today announced a joint-venture agreement to launch a new exhibition, AGRITECHNICA ASIA, 15 – 17 March 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand. The Asian edition of AGRITECHNICA, the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment, is set to be the first agricultural exhibition that covers all of Asia by focusing on Asia’s largest agricultural buyers from across the region.

Under the terms of the joint venture, the DLG – German Agricultural Society, organizer of AGRITECHNICA in Hanover, Germany, and Dutch-Thai exhibition organizer VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, organizer of VIV Asia in Bangkok, will collaborate to establish one of the most powerful joint ventures in the agricultural exhibition industry.

The first edition of AGRITECHNICA ASIA will be held from 15 – 17 March 2017 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand, in conjunction with VIV Asia, the largest livestock exhibition in Asia. The co-location will further accelerate the inaugural edition of AGRITECHNICA ASIA, leveraging synergies between animal and crop production.

While the focus in Europe is on innovations for the cultivation of cereals and maize, AGRITECHNICA ASIA will expand the exhibition program further to include local solutions for the cultivation of rice, cassava and sugar cane.

The mechanization of Asian farms covers a wide range of capabilities. At AGRITECHNICA ASIA the emphasis will be on agricultural engineering solutions that are both relevant and important to the development of agriculture in the Asian markets. Mechanization through modern machinery will increase significantly in the next decade mainly due to the growing labor shortages, more competition and therefore the requirement to reduce production costs.

“In addition to the strong growth currently in individual Southeast-Asian countries, this developing region as a whole will be further boosted by the ASEAN grouping by further regional integration in economic cooperation, food trade development and agri-innovations for sustainable food production“ added Dr. Achim Schaffner, DLG´s Head of Agricultural Economics. Thailand is considered a hub for the machinery trade in the region which is underlined by the choice of Bangkok as the venue for AGRITECHNICA ASIA.

“Asia is very important part of the global food supply chain with vast land and rich natural resources. Agriculture plays very important role in Asian economy. The world top brand agricultural companies stand out in the region. Now AGRITECHNICA comes to Asia! I believe it will definitely bring new platform and opportunities to the development of agriculture in Asia.

Lovol Group is very pleased to join hands with the DLG (German Agricultural Society) to present our brand, products, technology and service to the customers from around the world on this platform of AGRITECHNICA ASIA.” says Mr. Wang Guimin, Chairman of the Board, LOVOL, China.

To ensure an impressive launch of AGRITECHNICA ASIA, the organizers decided to realize an international hosted buyer program for the top 150 agricultural decision makers in Asia-Pacific.

“We consider Asia-Pacific as one of our key growth regions. The steep rise in dairy consumption is leading to an upswing in mechanization of grassland management to which Pöttinger, as a grassland specialist, can make a valuable contribution. We also see a great need for investment in arable farming. Pöttinger has the right solutions for both small-scale farming structures and large farms.” said Mr. Heinz Pöttinger, Managing Director PÖTTINGER Landtechnik GmbH, Austria.

The first edition of AGRITECHNICA ASIA is supported by the world’s leading launch partners LEMKEN, LOVOL and Pöttinger with some further leading agricultural manufacturers in discussion.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the development of a relevant professional program accompanying the exhibition. With the support of industry experts, its aim is to enable transfer of know-how through innovative technology for agricultural farms in the region, as well as to strengthen the agricultural network for agricultural machinery manufacturers in Asia. Also of importance is the recognition of innovative agricultural technology developments in Asia through an AGRITECHNICA ASIA innovations award scheme.

“The key goal is to develop new markets together with the agricultural machinery industry. We will bring the top decision makers from ASEAN, China, India, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East together,” said Bernd Koch, Managing Director DLG International GmbH.

“LEMKEN, the specialist supplier for professional arable farming, has been active for many years in the Chinese and Indian markets. Our versatile product range is suitable in many ways to mechanize agriculture in the Asia-Pacific countries and thus provides a significant potential for the future. In order to accede and develop these markets, LEMKEN intends to participate in the first AGRITECHNICA ASIA in Bangkok 2017. This first international exhibition for agricultural machinery in the area provides for LEMKEN an important basis for the future business development.”, said Anthony van der Ley, CEO LEMKEN GmbH & Co. KG, Germany.

DLG (German Agricultural Society) is an independent and non-political organization with a large global network, undertaking not-for-profit activities in key agricultural countries. The organization acts as a partner for the successful development and expansion of international business for foreign companies investing in overseas markets. Through its many specialist exhibitions companies, the DLG supports companies in finding new and appropriate markets by bringing partners together also at the local level. In 2015, DLG organized the AGRITECHNICA exhibition, as well as more than 25 exhibitions in 15 countries. These events have not only resulted in new customers and contracts, but also provided opportunities for greater brand and product awareness for the companies involved. This served as an ideal route for sustainable entry into new markets.

DLG International GmbH operates since 1987 as a highly specialised consulting company with focus on services for organisations of agribusiness and food industry. It has eight international subsidiaries: DLG RUS OOO in Russia; DLG Italia; DLG BENELUX in the Netherlands; DLG AgroFood in Poland; DLG Inter Marketing in Romania; DLG Fuarcilik in Turkey; and DLG AgroTechService in China, as well as IFWexpo in Heidelberg, Germany.

The joint venture brings together the complementary strengths of DLG and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific. “At VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific we have successfully co-developed some of Asia’s leading trade shows with German organizers in the past. Working with DLG is a strategic joint-venture that will deliver an incredible business platform for the Asian market. Most importantly, we incorporate the entire industry from the very beginning to tailor a marketplace that serves their needs,” revealed Mr. Nino Gruettke, Managing Director of VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific.
