Bangkok, Thailand – Southeast Asia faces rural labor transition. This shows the high demand of mechanized farming solutions. DLG-Agrifuture Insights 2018 survey illustrates that 75 percent of Thai capable farmers plan to invest more in mechanization. In response to the automation trend, AGRITECHNICA ASIA 2018 and Horti ASIA 2018 as the international platform for presenting the choices of useful equipment to secure the future of farming operations to Thai farmers and other Southeast Asian farmers with similar growing conditions will be held from 22-24 August 2018.

This year, AGRITECHNICA ASIA will launch the new appealing highlight – the first Agrifuture Forum – to be a stage for experts from all over the world, especially the successful Asian farmers, to share their best practices, techniques on drone technology and precision farming, and presentations on models about sharing for agricultural machinery. The topics like “Farming goes Digital – Ways to Get Agriculture Smart and Digital”, “Precision Farming in the Asian Context” and “One for All, All for One’ Success through Joint Machinery Use” address applicable and up-to-date issues. Speakers will present ways to increase efficiency and yield. Bob Martin, who has worked in Cambodia for 15 years on sustainable intensification of cropping systems, will focus on the transitioning from hand broadcasting to machine planting and site-specific nutrient management. Andreas Hastedt, Managing Director of the German Machinery Ring Association, will share his experience about the machinery-sharing concept, which allows the use of agricultural machinery to its economic capacity, and thus makes machinery affordable.

Another highlight will be the Systems & Components Special Show on basic maintenance organized by Maschio Gaspardo and DLG (German Agricultural Society). Maschio Gaspardo will present use and maintenance operations through a multimedia maintenance good practice training. The live and video demonstration will be focusing on the set-up of a power harrow, as well as on the value of maintaining and performing functional checks and service operations which have an important influence on the implement working life and field performance.

For Horti ASIA 2018, the focus will be on the knowledge transfer from the global experts and international associations. This is the first time that the organizer joined-hand with the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) to pave the way for collaborative education and to provide a knowledge platform for the horticultural industry in Asia. This collaboration will create a hub for knowledge exchange in Asia to provide the best solutions for the horticultural industry. An international forum will be held by Horti ASIA 2018 on August 22, 2018 at Amber 3, BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand.
